I am so pleased to be a new member of the Old Center Elementary School family! Ever since I was a fourth grader in Lebanon, TN, I have wanted to teach school. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1977. After spending my college years focusing on Middle School Education, I graduated on a Friday and began teaching first grade on Monday morning! I never looked back!

I taught first and third grades at St. Edward School for eight years. After earning my Master’s degree from MTSU, I moved to Metro schools in 1986. I served as library media specialist at Granbery, Tusculum, and Maxwell Elementary. During this time I also spent a year working for the Tennessee Department of Education. After earning my certification in PreK-12 Administration, I became Assistant Principal at Maxwell Elementary in 2004.

I am married to my wonderful husband, Kevin. We have two grown children, Pam and Joe, and a grandchild.
