As a Title 1 school, Old Center receives federal assistance which ensures a high-quality education for every child. The Old Center Title 1 Program operates as Schoolwide and has 40% or more children enrolled from low-income families . The Schoolwide program combines Title 1 funds with federal, state, and local funds to improve school acheivement.
As a Title 1 school, Old Center works to:
- identify students most in need of educational help (students do not have to be from low-income families to receive help)
- set goals for improvement
- measure student progress, using standards set forth in the state's Title 1 plan
- develop programs that add to regular classroom instruction
- involve parents in all aspects of the program.
