Family Fun Night – Old Center is hosting a Family Fun Night this Friday, November 20 at Monkey Joe’s. The event will be from 3:30 – 8:00. Monkey Joe’s is located at 1580 Gallatin Pike North. Come whenever – stay for a short time or the whole time. Old Center will receive 10% of admissions that evening. An adult must accompany all children – no drop offs will be allowed.

Thanksgiving Play
– Our kindergarteners are hard at work preparing their Thanksgiving Play. It will happen on Monday night at 6 PM in the cafeteria. I hope you will be able to join us for the big event.

4-H Public Speaking Winners – Congratulations to the following students who were winners in the recent 4-H public speaking contest held in their classrooms:

Carraway – Brannon Rust (1st), Robyn Montini (2nd), Timothy Ramsey (2nd) and Jessica Diep (2nd).

Martin – Sophie Hardin (1st), Lauren Dardy (1st), Savannah Jarratt (1st), Susan Alam (2nd) and Cindy Pham (3rd)

Nicks – Chad Uhles (1st), Kendra Brooks (1st), Michael Compton (1st), Mya Rashada (2nd), Zachery Floyd (2nd) and Malcolm Donaldson (3rd)

H1N1 Flu – Metro started last week at Thomas Edison Elementary, however I do not know where we are on the list. We will let you know as soon as we know our date.

Magnet School Dates – Information concerning magnet schools will go home with the report cards on Monday. The deadline for applications is December 4th. If you are applying for Meigs (5th Grade) I must sign the application. This does not include Zoned Option – which will occur in the spring.

Theme of the Week – Each week we highlight a theme for our character education program. Thank you for supporting our theme in your home. Our current theme is Fairness.

Students are tardy after 8:00 a.m.

Parents, any transportation changes must be made in writing. Please send a note to the teacher by writing, faxing or emailing. Also, please remember no dismissal after 2:30.
